NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane women's swimming and diving team earned recognition as part of College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams according to an announcement by the organization this week.
"Our women work tirelessly in their studies and my hat is off to them for the effort they willingly put towards their academics," Head Coach Katie Robinson said. "Tulane is a top-40 ranked university and this team is challenged with a rigorous academic schedule while also being put to the test physically through a demanding and time-consuming training regimen. If that weren't enough, many of our women on the team are completing double-majors and double-minors. It is truly impressive and inspiring."
The Green Wave tallied a 3.32 team grade point average in the fall, just above the 3.31 average of CSCAA's fall award winners, which requires a 3.0 team GPA.
"We also must thank our academic services staff, specifically Micahla Williams, for the help and support they have provided our student-athletes," Robinson said. "He does a tremendous job with our team and it shows in our team GPA."
Tulane returns to the pool and finishes its regular season during a trip to Baton Rouge to clash against LSU, Houston, and Rice on Friday, Jan 27 and Saturday, Jan 28. Day One of the meet will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, while Day Two has been changed to a 10 a.m. start on Saturday morning.
