Meet Mason Griffin 
Prior to Tulane: Two-year letterman at Grayson County College for coach Dusty Hart...helped lead the Vikings to a combined 78-36 record, including a 43-13 record in 2007 when Grayson won the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference championship and advanced to the NJCAA Region V playoffs...as a freshman, earned second-team all-conference honors after tallied 10 saves, a 4-0 record, a 1.95 ERA and 24 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .241 batting average in 32.1 innings of work...claimed first-team All-NTJCAC honors as a sophomore after leading the team in saves (eight) and appearances (23) while pacing Grayson relievers in strikeouts (29) and innings pitched (37.2).
Summer Ball: Played for the Vienna Senators of the Clark Griffith Collegiate Baseball League in 2006 and 2007...in 2006, appeared in 21 games with a pair of starts, posting a 6-0 record with four saves...led the league in ERA (0.67) and ranked fifth in strikeouts (51)...named a Top 10 pro prospect in the CGCBL by PGCrossChecker.com after tallying a 4.64 strikeout-to-walk ratio with just 11 walks in 54.1 innings of work...in 2007, earned All-CGCBL Team after leading the league in appearances (26) and pickoffs (three) while ranking second in saves (seven) and sixth in strikeouts (47) while going 3-2 in 26 appearances and 35.0 innings...held opponents to a .181 batting average and posted a 9.4 strikeout-to-walk ratio, which ranked second among CGCBL pitchers.
High School: Two-year letterman at Trinity High for coach Dave Evartt where he saw time on the mound and at third base...earned all-district honors as a junior...helped guide the Trojans to a regional title as a freshman...also lettered twice in football...off the diamond, was a member of the Student Council and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Personal: Born Mason Murray Griffin on Aug. 27, 1985 in Wichita Falls, Texas...son of Michael and Nancy Griffin...has three sisters: Carla, Cari and Casey...majoring in communication.
