Kritza's West Coast Blog Tulane head volleyball coach Liz Kritza discusses the team's overall status and what they have been up to since leaving for the BYU Molten Classic last Thursday. Volleyball Makes Quick Work Of Utah State For First Win Of 2008 Season In the first two contests of the 2008 BYU Molten Classic, the Green Wave were out-blocked by a combined margin of 35.5-9.0. Senior middle blocker Jen Linder made sure that didn't happen for a third consecutive match. In its final game of the tournament, the Tulane University volleyball team posted eight team blocks to Utah State's four and a half as the Wave defeated the Aggies, 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-19), Saturday evening at Smith Fieldhouse. Improved Play Not Enough As Volleyball Falls At BYU, 3-1 Sometimes, in sports, the ball just does not bounce your way. That is the way it was for the Green Wave on Saturday afternoon at BYU. Despite playing a much-improved all-around game from their performance one night ago, the Tulane University volleyball team found itself on the wrong side of a hard-fought 3-1 decision to the 20th ranked Cougars Saturday afternoon in day two of the BYU Molten Classic at Smith Fieldhouse. Volleyball Falls To Missouri In Day One Of BYU Molten Classic Senior outside hitter Sara Radosevic had a match-high 16 kills and junior libero Jenn Miller led all players with 20 digs, but it was not enough as the Tulane University volleyball team dropped its season-opener to Missouri, 3-1, Friday afternoon in day one of the BYU Molten Classic at Smith Fieldhouse. Tulane Cancels Volleyball Home Opener Scheduled For Monday The Tulane athletic department has cancelled Monday's volleyball home opener against Florida A&M. The Green Wave, which open the regular season Friday at the BYU Molten Classic, will remain on a West Coast road trip and travel directly to their next tournament, the Paso Robles Marriott Invitational at Cal Poly. |
