Tulane Track and Field Hosts Four Local Schools on Wednesday

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane University will host the Tulane Track and Field Invitational on Wednesday afternoon at the Danny Thiel Track at the Westfeldt Facility on Wednesday afternoon. In addition to the Green Wave men's and women's teams, Nicholls State, UNO, Southeastern Louisiana and Southern of New Orleans, will compete. The events are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. with the long jump. Admission is free.
"We wanted to host an event to give as many of our kids as possible a chance to compete right here at Tulane," Tulane coach Heather Van Norman said. "And we hope a lot of students and fans come on out and support the team."
The long jump will be the first event at 4 p.m., and will be followed by the triple jump, high jump and pole vault. Running events begin at 6:30 p.m. with the 4x100 Relay. Women will precede men in all running events. Throwing events will be held on Tuesday at the Strawberry Stadium Track at Southeastern Louisiana.

Following the Tulane Invitational, the Green Wave will compete at the Hurricane Invitational at the University of Miami on Saturday.
