NEW ORLEANS - Tulane football sharpened the focus for its Saturday showdown with in-state rival UL Lafayette with a two-hour practice under summerlike conditions at Yulman Stadium.
The Green Wave (1-2, 0-1 American Athletic Conference | West) went through its final full workout of the week in preparation to face the Ragin' Cajuns (2-1, 1-0 Sun Belt) on Saturday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN.
"Today is a day we're trying to be assignment sound," said head coach Willie Fritz. "We've repped plays on Tuesday and Wednesday, thrown some things out and added very little. I feel like we have been assignment, which we need to be on Thursdsays."
On Friday, Tulane will conduct its final walk-through its third-straight home game under the lights at Yulman. The Wave's last three-game homestand was in 2013 as a member of Conference USA. During that stretch, Tulane defeated North Texas, East Carolina and Tulsa en route to a 7-6 record and the matchup with the Cajuns in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.
