
Football's Marley Named LSWA Co-Defensive Player of the Week

BATON ROUGE, La. - Senior linebacker Nico Marley earned his first weekly honor of the season, grabbing Co-Defensive Player of the Week recognition from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association following his performance in Tulane's dramatic, four-overtime win over UL Lafayette. He shares the honor with Nicholls' B.T. Sanders.
Marley was all over the field for the Green Wave with 11 total tackles, five of which was solo efforts, 1.0 sacks, 3.0 tackles for loss and one forced fumble. His first-quarter sack was the third of the season and 6.5 for his career entering this Saturday's matchup at Massachusetts (2:30 p.m. CT, American Sports Network/ESPN3). Marley has recorded 10 or more tackles in a game eight times in his career.
Marley was one of two Tulane players honored by LSWA this week as junior placekicker Andrew DiRocco was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
