Frazier Named LSWA Men’s Basketball Player of the Month

NEW ORLEANS - Tulane men's basketball junior Melvin Frazier has been named Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) for the month of November, according to an announcement by the organization Tuesday evening.
Frazier averaged 19.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 60 of 96 (.625) from the field and 12 of 28 (.429) from 3-point range, helping the Green Wave to a 6-2 record through the first eight games of the season. He has scored at least 20 points in five of those eight games, including a 27-point performance at 13th-ranked North Carolina.
The Avondale, La., native has two double-doubles and was named MVP of the 2017 Jamaica Classic, as well as American Athletic Conference Player of the Week on November 20.
Frazier currently ranks first in the American Athletic Conference in steals per game, as well as second in scoring and field goal percentage.
Tulane returns to action Wednesday, Dec. 6 to host Southern at noon (CT) at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.
