Green Wave ranked No. 22 in this week’s Oracle/ITA PollTies highest ranking of last year’s NCAA Tournament squad
NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane men's tennis program continued its rise in the national rankings on Tuesday after the Oracle/ITA released its updated team, singles and doubles polls. The Green Wave checked in at No. 22, tying their highest ranking from last year's NCAA Tournament squad. Furthermore, the Olive and Blue were the lone American Athletic Conference member inside the top-25.
On the singles side, junior Constantin Schmitz slid a few spots to No. 37, despite a perfect 6-0 record in dual matches, which includes three matches against ranked opposition. In addition, Sebastian Rey picked up his first singles ranking on the year, landing at No. 110 with his 5-1 dual record.
Rey wasn't done there however, squeezing into the top-60 in doubles at No. 59 alongside Chi-Shan Jao. The duo are 4-3 this spring with a big win over then No. 13 Max Hinnisdaels/Conner Huertas of Auburn.
The Green Wave are now set up for a top-25 showdown on Friday when they challenge No. 20 Mississippi State in Starkville at 3 p.m. CT.
