MADRID - The Tulane men's basketball team's foreign trip in Spain will be updated regularly during its 10-day venture with day-by-day reflections and photos from events and experiences in Madrid and Barcelona from August 9-19. Local time in Spain is in Central European Standard Time (CEST) and is exactly seven hours ahead of New Orleans (CT).
Sunday, Aug. 13
9:30 a.m. (CEST) - The team meets for breakfast at the hotel before getting on the bus to begin the day's events at 10 a.m.
10:30 a.m. (CEST) - Tulane student-athletes, coaches and staff arrive at the Reina Sofia National Museum of Art for a tour. Paintings and sculptures covered the walls and floors of this extremely large exhibit that covered multiple floors. Paintings by Picasso were abundant, but photography and video are not permitted inside.

12:30 p.m. (CEST) - Bus arrives at El Rastro Flea Market, which assembles only on Sundays in Madrid. Locals set up shops under tents with a variety of items ranging from jewelry to bags to kitchenware. Players have the rest of the next few hours free before beginning preparation for tonight's game.

The Green Wave gets off to a good start and led 15-14 through at the end of the first quarter. Madrid Select responded every time Tulane tried to pull away and was able to tie the game at 38 as both teams headed to the locker rooms for the halftime intermission.
Tulane got some defensive stops in the third quarter and created a 53-50 advantage through 30 minutes of play, setting the tone for an explosive fourth frame where the Green Wave shot 11-for-18 (.611) overall and 3-for-4 (.750) behind the 3-point line to create multiple double-digit leads before holding on to a 78-69 victory.
Cameron Reynolds led the way with 21 points and seven rebounds while making five of eight shots beyond the arc, as Samir Sehic posted a double-double comprising 16 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Caleb Daniels also reached double-figures with 10 points, while Melvin Frazier padded the stats sheet with six points, seven boards and three steals.
