Track & Field Posts Numerous Personal Records, Earns Event Win to Close Out Louisiana Classics

LAFAYETTE, La. - Tulane track and field concluded the Louisiana Classics in stellar fashion on Saturday, notching numerous personal records and winning one event in the second outdoor event of the season.
Freshman Bridgid Selfors won the women's 5000m race with a time of 18:03.22, bringing home Tulane's only event win of the day.
Elsewhere on the track, freshman Rachel Maue claimed a 13th place finish in the women's 1500m race, recording a new personal record in the process. Her time of 4:58.08 tops her previous best of 5:01.08, which she set at the Tulane Early Bird Twilight two weekends ago.
Sophomore Brandi Hughes finished third in the 100m hurdles, setting a new personal record with her time of 13.69 (wind: +3.4 m/s). Hughes also set a new personal record in the 400m hurdles, where she finished second with a time of 1:01.55.
Freshman Jordyn Lesh set a new personal record in the triple jump with her distance of 11.31m while sophomore Paige Fatland finished third in the 800m run in a new personal record time of 2:14.07.
On the men's side, junior Pierce Hill finished sixth in the men's 1500m race. His time of 4:07.37 is a new personal record, besting his previous top time by .62 seconds.
UP NEXT
Tulane is off to Houston, Texas, next weekend. The Green Wave will compete in the Victor Lopez Classic, hosted by Rice, on Friday and Saturday.
