NEW ORLEANS โย Following a weekend inside the friendly confines of Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse,ย Tulane volleyball is back in action Wednesday night with a midweek road match-up at the University of Houston. The teams will meet for the first time this year at 7:00 p.m. inside the Athletics/Alumni Center on the Cougars' campus.
QUOTE
"This week is a critical week for us because we will wrap up the first round of conference play. Houston is one of the teams at the bottom of the league, but they have been playing better as of late. We are focused and ready to make a big run down the stretch as we have proven that we can beat any team in our league."
--Tulane head coach Jim Barnes
LAST TIME OUT
The Green Wave are coming off of a home weekend that included match-ups with East Carolina and Cincinnati. The Pirates took Thursday night's contest 3-1, while Tulane took the Bearcats to five hard-fought sets on Saturday afternoon but fell 14-16 in the final outing.
Houston has dropped both of its last two matches, losing to Cincinnati in three straight sets on Thursday before falling to an ECU sweep on Saturday.
SERIES HISTORY
The Cougars lead the all-time series 29-12 and hold a 16-3 record at home. The teams last met in the 2015 season, with Tulane dropping the home contest 2-3 and losing a 1-3 match on the road.
