Strausbaugh Leads Tulane Men's Golf

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Junior Justin Strausbaugh continued his solid play in leading the Tulane men's golf team Saturday at the Falcon-Cross Creek Invitational.
Strausbaugh, a native of Leawood, Kan., shot a one-over-par 73 and is the Green Wave's top golfer after 36 holes. His two-round total of 147 places him in a tie for 35th place. The tournament's final round will be played tomorrow.
As a team, Tulane has a two-round total of 603 (+27), which places the squad in a tie for 17th place. Notre Dame leads the 24-team field with a total of 566, 10 strokes under par. Wyoming and tournament-host Air Force are tied for second at 578 and New Mexico State is fourth at 579. Individually, Notre Dame's Todd Vernon leads a field of 119 golfers with a seven-under par total of 137.
Other Tulane finishers included Byron Shultz (T55th/150), Byron McDougall (T55th/150), Gareth White (T96th/156) and Louis DeValeix (113th/160).
The 54-hole event runs through Sunday at the Eisenhower-Blue Course, a par 72, 7,301-yard layout. The event is hosted by the U.S. Air Force Academy.
