NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane sophomore Michael Kogan (Kfar-Saba, Israel) defeated a pair of players at the LSU Men's Tennis Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Kogan, ranked No. 15 in the nation, opened his day by defeating LSU's Bryan Fisher, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (10-4 super-tiebreaker). He followed that with another super-tiebreaker victory over No. 56 Paco Antelo from South Florida, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (10-8).
The super-tiebreaker was used instead of a third-set. The super-tiebreaker is won by the first player to 10 points.
Kogan returns to action Sunday, battling LSU's Daniel Kiernan, ranked No. 29 in the country. Kogan has posted a 6-3 record against nationally-ranked players this fall.
