ATHENS, Ga. - Tulane University sophomore Michael Kogan (Kfar-Saba, Israel) continued to affirm his No. 1 seeding in the Southern Collegiate Tennis Championships at the University of Georgia's Dan Magill Tennis Complex Saturday.
Kogan, playing in the first division, opened the day by upending Georgia's Nicolas Boeker, 6-7 (4), 6-0, 7-5 at 10:30 a.m. He continues action at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, battling David Loewenthal from Wake Forest.
Meanwhile, junior Mattias Westerberg (Lulea, Sweden) also continued to succeed in the second division, defeating Rach Daily from Vanderbilt, 6-2, 6-3 in his morning match. Westerberg will also face a Wake Forest foe in the afternoon, meeting David Bere at 4:30 p.m.
Freshman Brad Cinalli (Avondale, Pa.) played in the third division consolation round. He met Central Florida's Simon Jager at 9 a.m.
