Baseball Begins Fall Practice; Announces Intrasquad Schedule

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Tulane University baseball team began preparations for the 2003 season as the Green Wave began fall practices Tuesday afternoon at Turchin Stadium.
The Green Wave will practice through Nov. 3, including a five-game "World Series" to culminate fall ball. Practice times are at 2:15 p.m. unless there is a scheduled intrasquad game (see dates and times below). All games and practices are tentative and subject to change.
Tulane returns a wealth of talent for the 2003 season after losing just four players off last year's team that advanced to the NCAA Regionals for a school-record fifth consecutive season. Including in the list of returning veterans are former Freshmen All-Americans Michael Aubrey and Anthony Giarratano, along with 2002 All-Conference USA honorees Jon Kaplan, Aaron Feldman and Joey Charron.
Joining the Green Wave family for the upcoming season are a host of talented newcomers, including Division I transfers Cory Hahn, who was Kentucky's ace last year, as well as former Florida outfielder Wes Swackhamer. Tulane's fall signing class of pitchers J.R. Crowel, Matt Goebel, Brandon Gomes, Tyler Kimmons and Billy Mohl, along with catcher Chris Sepanski and outfielder Brian Bogusevic ranked third in the nation by TeamOneBaseball.com.
All Green Wave practices will be held at Turchin Stadium and at the adjoining turf fields of the Barney Mintz Auxilary Field of the George G. "Sonny" Westfeldt Practice and Competition Facility.
