NEW ORLEANS, La. - Due to inclement weather in the New Orleans Area, game two of the 2003 Popeyes Cup between Tulane and UNO has been postponed until Wednesday, April 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Maestri Field.
The game was originally slated for Tuesday, April 7 at UNO, but an all-day rain in the area forced the game to be pushed back until Wednesday. Tulane currently leads the three-game series one game to none after taking the first game 7-1 last Tuesday at Turchin Stadium.
Tuesday's postponement marks the fourth time in 2003 that Tulane has had to adjust its schedule. That is not necessarily a bad thing for the Green Wave as Tulane has won all three of its previously moved contests. After bagging a Friday night game against Pepperdine on Feb. 21, Tulane won game one of the Saturday doubleheader 6-3. Then, on March 19, Tulane had to travel to Baton Rouge to play Southeastern Louisiana due to unplayable conditions at the Lions' Alumni Field and won that contest 8-4.
Finally, last weekend at Charlotte, Tulane's Saturday game against the 49ers at Kannapolis' Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium, but came back to win the first game on Sunday's doubleheader 8-4.
Following Wednesday's make-up game, Tulane returns to action on Friday, April 11 when the Green Wave takes on Houston at 6:30 p.m. in Turchin Stadium.
