LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Friday's scheduled Conference USA baseball game between Tulane and Louisville has been postponed due to inclement weather around Cardinal Stadium.
The Green Wave and Cardinals will make up the game on Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at noon. Both games will be nine-inning affairs, and the two teams will close out the series on Sunday with first pitch slated for noon.
Tulane and Louisville had both completed their respective batting practices. But before the Cardinals took the field for infield practice, the grounds crew covered the dirt areas of the Astroturf field in preparation to an impending storm. Shortly thereafter, heavy rain pounded the field, hale began falling, and a tornado watch was issued for the area. At that point, Louisville officials called the game and the doubleheader was slated for Saturday.
Following the weekend series against the Cardinals, Tulane returns home to close out the season with a Tuesday Popeyes Cup contest against cross-town foe UNO at Zephyr Field before playing the final series of the regular season against East Carolina at Turchin Stadium beginning on Thursday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m.
