NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Athletics released its 2016-17 Year in Review on TulaneGreenWave.com, a graphical overview of the Green Wave's accomplishments on and off the fields of play this past season.Â
"The 2016-17 season was one to celebrate for Tulane Athletics as our student-athletes continued to embody the true meaning of being a student-athlete, excelling on the field, in the classroom and in the community," said Troy Dannen, Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair at Tulane. "Our programs continued to show progress across the board, which builds momentum for an exciting season ahead."Â
Tulane boasted four postseason teams, two individual conference championships, eight All-Americans, two conference players of the year, one conference rookie of the year and one academic All-American in 2016-17. In the classroom, five Green Wave teams earned NCAA Academic Progress Rate Public Recognition Awards with perfect scores and the department's 16 varsity programs combined to post an NCAA Graduation Success Rate of 93 percent, eight percent higher than the national average. Off the field, Tulane ranked in the top 25 nationally in community service engagement.
