Tulane Football to Raise Awareness for Cancer at SMU Game

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University football team will partner with the American Cancer Society on Saturday during the Green Wave's matchup with SMU at Yulman Stadium to raise awareness for those affected by cancer.
Prior to the game, cancer survivor and Tulane employee Gina Fortado will sing the National Anthem. Click here to learn more about Fortado's story.
Following the National Anthem, members from the American Cancer Society with hoist the No. 18 flag in honor of Devon Walker.
During the game, Tulane football players will wear a pink ribbon on their helmets in a show of support for cancer patients.
In addition, head coach Willie Fritz has taken part in the Real Men Wear Pink Campaign. Fans can join Fritz in helping him reach his goal of raising $2,500 toward the American Cancer Society's fight against breast cancer. Fans can click here to donate toward coach Fritz's goal.
Wednesday on his weekly radio show, Fritz and his wife, Susan, donated $500 toward the cause.
Tickets for the SMU game can be purchased by clicking here. Kickoff for Saturday afternoon's game is set for 2:30 p.m.
