Lewis Selected to The American Weekly Football Honor Roll

NEW ORLEANS - Tulane University safety Donnie Lewis Jr. was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Football Honor Roll on Monday.
Lewis received the award after he posted a team-high eight tackles. His eight stops also tied a career high. In addition, Lewis collected his team-leading third interception of the year which he returned 49 yards to the end zone. That was his first career interception return for a touchdown and gave the Green Wave a 16-7 lead in the third quarter. Lewis now has eight career interceptions.
Lewis' recognition to the weekly honor roll marks the second time this season a Green Wave student-athlete has been honored by the league office. On Oct. 1, junior running back Darius Bradwell was named to the weekly honor roll as well.
Tulane returns to action this week as it heads to Tulsa to take on the Golden Hurricane. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. (CT) and will be aired on ESPNU.
