Veitch Adds Stolakis and Williams to 2026 Signing Class
Feb 16, 2022 | Women's Bowling
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane women's bowling head coach Hayley Veitch announced the addition of Mia Stolakis and Cassidy Williams to the 2026 recruiting class today. Â
Â
Stolakis will head Uptown from Worcester Technical High School in Worcester, MA where she is a two-time defending Massachusetts girls' state champion, having won the title as a freshman and a sophomore. After her junior season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Stolakis is currently averaging 216 during her senior campaign. She looks to maintain her streak of posting the highest average in the state of Massachusetts for the third straight season. In addition, Stolakis currently holds the Massachusetts HS state record of 523 series for a 2-game series. Stolakis began bowling at the age of 6 and since then has competed in local and national tournaments.
Â
"We can't wait for Mia to arrive in New Orleans," said Veitch. "She will be the first ever left-handed bowler on our team. She is very versatile and because there are very few lefty bowlers, this is a true advantage. She will certainly add depth to our team."
Â
Williams comes to the Green Wave from Cathedral High School in New Ulm, MN after posting a stellar prep career. She was named the 2018 and 2021 Most Outstanding Player for Coed Minnesota High School Bowling. Additionally, Williams took home the 2020 and 2021 honors for Most Outstanding Player for Girls Minnesota High School Bowling. She was named first team all-state in 2021 and is a four-time all-conference selection in the state of Minnesota. During the 2021 Junior Gold tournament, Williams finished in the top 65 in the U18 division. She has posted a 666 high in a three-game series, with a 1218 for a six-game series.
Â
"Cassidy has stood out from our first correspondence," Veitch said. "Her personality and athletic ability will be a great fit for Tulane and our bowling team. Her consistent game will be true asset to our team. I am looking forward to coaching Cassidy later this year."
Â
Stolakis and Williams will arrive in New Orleans this fall. The 2021 Green Wave bowlers are back in action this weekend at the Mid Winter Invitational in Jonesboro, AR. Competition starts Friday February 18 and concludes on Sunday, February 20.
