
Tulane Athletics Bolsters Staff with Promotions and New Hires

Mitchell, Buckner, Miller and Marx promoted while Gosha and Corriher join the Green Wave
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair Troy Dannen announced today the promotion of four staff members along with the hire of two new additions to the athletics department staff.
Scott Mitchell will now serve as the Senior Associate Athletic Director Business Operations/CFO while Jada Buckner becomes the Assistant Athletic Director, Student-Athlete Enhancement. Mike Miller will be elevated to the Assistant Athletics Director for Tickets Sales and Service while George Marx moves to Director of Ticket Operations.
Joining the department will be Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facilities & Operations Kortne Gosha and Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications Jason Corriher.
Mitchell began his tenure with the Green Wave as the director of game operations and event management in 2007. Mitchell was promoted to assistant athletics director of business service, game operations and event management in 2008. He has served as the assistant and associate athletic director for business since 2015. He will now oversee all aspects of the business office, budget, human resources, equipment room and motor pool for the Green Wave. Prior to his arrival in New Orleans, Mitchell was the director of facilities and game operations at the University of North Alabama from 2004-2007.
Buckner joined the Green Wave in 2017 as the athletics certification officer. In her new role, Buckner will oversee career development, life skills, community service, and the student-athlete advisory committee. Prior to her arrival in uptown, Buckner served as a postgraduate intern for academic and membership affairs with the NCAA in Indianapolis. She also had stops at East Carolina University and East Tennessee State University.
Miller arrived in Uptown in April of 2017 as the Director of Ticket Sales managing the Green Wave's sales efforts. In his new role, Miller will oversee the sales, operations, and customer service needs of the athletics ticket office. Prior to joining the department, Miller previously worked as an athletics ticket sales coordinator at Lamar University, an account executive at Daytona International Speedway and a premium sales intern at the Walt Disney World Resort.
On Miller's staff, George Marx will move into the role of Director of Ticket Operations. In this role, Marx will manage all ticket operations and financial reporting for the ticket office while serving as the liaison to Paciolan. Marx joined the ticket office in 2019 following several years of experience in the office as a Tulane student. Marx also has experience with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and the former New Orleans Baby Cakes.
Joining the athletics department staff will be Kortne Gosha as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facilities & Operations as well as Jason Corriher as the Assistant Athletics Director for Strategic Communications.
Gosha arrives in Uptown from Tallahassee, Florida after serving as the Vice President and Director of Athletics at Florida A&M University since December 2019 where he developed a comprehensive strategic plan, secured a grant for stadium renovations, and lead the university through conference realignment negotiations. Prior to his time with the Rattlers, Gosha served as the associate athletics director for facilities and events at the University of Miami from 2018-19. He also has experience at Middle Tennessee State University (2012-2018) as both an Associate Athletics Director/COO and Assistant Athletics Director Facilities & Equipment. He also spent time at Jacksonville State University (2010-2011) as a coordinator of operations.
Corriher joins the Green Wave from Marshall University where he has served as the Assistant Athletics Director for Communications since 2011. During his time at Marshall, Corriher supervised the media relations efforts for the Herd's 16 sports while handling radio play-by-play duties for women's basketball, all communications efforts for the Thundering Herd football team and managing two full-time staff members. Prior to his 11 years in Huntington, Corriher spent four years with the Ohio University athletics department as the Assistant AD for Media Relations. Since 2000, he has also spent time at Marist College, the Big South Conference and NC State University all in communications, media, and public relations roles.
