Tulane to be Represented at ICSA Match National Championship this Weekend

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing will be represented in the 2024 ICSA Match Race National Championship this weekend in Oyster Bay, New York. The regatta will be hosted by the Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club from Friday to Sunday, November 15-17.

The Green Wave qualified for the ICSA Match Race National Championship through the automatic bid earned by Kelly Holthus as the skipper winning the SEISA Match Race Championship in September.
Â
Holthus will be the skipper for the Wave again for the national championship this weekend. Join him as his crew for the regatta will be Martha Hughes, Zander King, and Brady Starck.

The championship will feature competitors from 10 schools with 11 total teams racing. Tulane will be competing against two teams from Harvard as well one team from each of the following schools: Boston College, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Chicago, Navy, Yale, Brown, Stanford, and College of Charleston.

Racing for the match race championship is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. CT on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The format for the championship will start with a round robin of all the teams followed the golden round to determine seeding for the quarterfinal with the top eight teams. Teams will then compete to advance to the semifinals and then the finals to try and win the regatta. Results for the ICSA Match Race Championship can be found HERE following each day of racing.
