Green Wave Achieves Highest Graduation Rate in State and Conference
Nov 19, 2025 | General
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Athletics proudly announced Wednesday that its Graduation Success Rate (GSR) has reached an impressive 96 percent, the highest in Louisiana and within the American Conference.
Since the NCAA began tracking GSR in 2004-05, Tulane has maintained the highest graduation rate in the state year after year and has posted the American's highest figure in back-to-back years.
The Green Wave's remarkable rate is also six points above the national average.
Out of Tulane's numerous athletic programs, nine posted perfect 100 percent GSRs for student-athletes who enrolled between fall 2015 and fall 2018. These programs include baseball, men's cross country/track and field, men's tennis, women's basketball, beach volleyball, bowling, golf, and women's tennis.
Moreover, every Tulane athletic program exceeded the federal graduation rate by at least 17 percent.
"Tulane Athletics remains committed to excellence both athletically and academically," said Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair David Harris. "This accomplishment reflects the dedication and effort of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff. Their teamwork and perseverance are what make these successes achievable."
Since the NCAA's implementation of the GSR, Division I institutions have adopted impactful academic reforms, including modifications to initial-eligibility standards, progress-toward-degree requirements, and the application of the Academic Performance Program. These initiatives have significantly contributed to the exponential rise in graduation success across the nation.
