Bowling Wraps Day Two of Columbia 300 Saints Invite

ST. LOUIS – The Tulane bowling team picked up two victories on the second day of the Columbia 300 Saints Invite, finishing with a 2-3 record and moving up to 11th place in the standings. Emma Fetterman led the way with a total pinfall of 1,052, averaging 210.4 per game and ranking 21st in the tournament, as the Green Wave notched wins over Newman and McKendree before falling to Oklahoma Christian, Valparaiso, and tournament leader Wichita State.
The Green Wave opened their slate with a 944-919 triumph over Newman University. Mia Stolakis spearheaded the effort with a showing of 219 pins. Emma Fetterman broke 200 with 202, while Cassidy Williams, Paige Matiasek, and Nancy Kohut bowled 187,177, and 159 to help bring the Wave to victory.Â
Tulane kept the momentum to claim a win over McKendree during the second matchup of the day. Fetterman led the Wave this time, knocking down 234 pins. Matiasek and Stolakis gave and impressive pair of scores, putting up 229 and 226 respectively. Blanca Fraticelli and Williams rounded out the success with a 180 and 172.Â
Oklahoma Christian defeated the Wave in round three with a final score of 1101-967. Fetterman bested her previous effort, felling 235 pins, while Fraticelli broke 200 with 202. Matiasek with 190, Stolakis with 178, and Kohut with 162 followed to close Tulane out.Â
In the fourth match, Valparaiso came out on top 1077-977. Fraticelli clinched the top Tulane score of the match with 222 pins. Matiasek and Stolakis once again finished within striking distance of one another with 210 and 201. Fetterman and Williams both gave 182 points to add to Tulane's total.Â
First-place Wichita State then beat the Wave in the last match of the day 1119-967. Matiasek came in Tulane first with 213 pins knocked over. Fetterman gave 199, Fraticelli 195, Stolakis 185, and Williams 175 to end the Wave's day of play.Â
Wichita State, Wright State, and Louisiana Tech now lead the tournament standings.Â
Tomorrow, the Wave will compete in three best four-of-seven baker matches at 8:30 a.m. to finalize their place in the rankings. Â
