Wave Welcomes Charlotte to Uptown Wednesday Night

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University men's basketball will look to rebound into the win column and sweep the season series against Charlotte as it hosts the 49ers in Uptown on Wednesday night. The Green Wave has not lost back-to-back games in conference play so far this season.

The matchup between the Wave and the 49ers is set to tipoff at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to the action live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 106.1 The Ticket and Heaven 106.7 with the voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.

This marks the 27th all-time meeting between Tulane and Charlotte with the Green Wave trailing the series 10-16. The Wave won the previous meeting this season 83-68 on December 31, 2024, in Charlotte. The last time the two teams met in New Orleans the Green Wave lost 71-75 on January 27, 2024. Tulane holds a 7-5 record at home against the 49ers with its last win in Uptown over Charlotte coming on February 7, 2014, by a final score of 64-63.

In its last time out, Tulane dropped its second consecutive road conference game falling 67-78 at Wichita State on Sunday, February 23. Four players scored in double figures for the Green Wave in the contest led by the duo of Rowan Brumbaugh and Gregg Glenn III with 18 points each. Kaleb Banks and Mari Jordan added 10 points apiece. With his performance Brumbaugh has scored at least 10 points in 23-straight games for the Wave and is averaging 16.7 points per game in that stretch.

The Green Wave holds a 12-3 record at home this season including a 6-1 mark in league play. Tulane is averaging 78.5 points on 45.2 percent shooting from the floor and 35.9 percent from three in home games this season. Banks and Brumbaugh lead the attack for the Wave in Uptown averaging 17.5 and 17.3 points per game, respectively.

The 49ers enter the matchup with a 10-17 record overall and a 3-11 mark in conference play after defeating Temple at home in overtime 78-72 on February 19. Four players average double figures in scoring for the 49ers this season led by Nik Graves with 17.3 points per game which ranks seventh in the league.

The 49ers have been effective in getting to the charity stripe this season. Charlotte ranks 19th in the country in free throw attempts per game with 23.4 and 11th nationally in free throws made per game with 17.6.

Following the matchup with Charlotte, the Green Wave will travel to the Sooner State to face the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Saturday, March 1. Tipoff between Tulane and the Golden Hurricane is set for 1 p.m. on ESPNU.
