
Tulane Sailing Reveals 2025 Spring Slate

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing is set for another spring season as the program's 2025 spring schedule has been finalized by Head Coach Charles Higgins. The Green Wave will participate in nine total regattas this spring, including the SEISA Conference Championships, before the ICSA National Championships complete the spring campaign.

Tulane will begin its spring slate on the road on March 15-16. The Wave will compete in a pair of regattas in the northeast to open the season. For the opening weekend of the spring Tulane will send one squad to the Southern New England Team Race hosted by Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut, while another crew for the Wave will compete in the St. Mary's Women's Fleet Race hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland in St. Mary's City, Maryland.

The following weekend the Green Wave will travel to Norfolk, Virginia, and Cambridge, Massachusetts, for a pair of separate regattas on Mach 22-23. Tulane will be in the field for both the Szambecki Team Race hosted by Old Dominion and the Duplin Women's Team Race hosted by Harvard.

To finish the month of March the Wave will be back on the road one again to participate in regattas hosted by MIT and Brown on March 29-30. The regatta held by MIT is the Marchiando Team Race which will take place at the Walter C. Wood Sailing Pavilion in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Meanwhile, the regatta hosted by Brown in Providence, Rhode Island, will be the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race.

The lone home event for Tulane will feature the Green Wave hosting the SEISA Conference Championships on April 4-6. The Wave will aim to win its fifth consecutive conference title as the regatta will be held on Lake Pontchartrain.

In the final regular season weekend for the Green Wave the team will make visit the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and Navy for a pair of events. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy will host the Thompson Trophy Team Race in New London, Connecticut, while Navy will hold the Truxton Umsted Trophy in Annapolis, Maryland. Both regattas will take place from April 12-13.

The ICSA National Championships will be held in three separate regattas this spring. The ICSA Team Race National Championship will be hosted by Brown and take place from April 24-28 in Rhode Island.

In May, the ICSA Women's and Open Fleet Race Championships will be held in St. Mary's City, Maryland, and hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland. The women's championships will run from May 20-23 while the open championship will follow from May 27-30.
