Perpetual Wave
Through the Perpetual Wave Campaign, Tulane looks to build a solid base of support for its athletics program by reconnecting with fans, alumni and the local community. |
The Perpetual Wave Campaign began in June 2003 following the Tulane Board's decision to continue support for a Division I-A football program at Tulane University. The goal of the campaign is to raise $65 million in four revenue areas over the next five years.
In addition, Perpetual Wave looks to increase ownership in Tulane Athletics by connecting, or re-connecting, with alumni, students, and the New Orleans and university communities.
A Steering Committee of local business and community leaders, Tulane alumni, including former letterwinners, and politicians on the state and local level, was brought together and assigned to one of four critical areas for revenue generation and long-term success:
* Ticket Revenue,
* Capital Projects,
* Ben Weiner Endowment, and
* Annual Giving (Tulane Athletics Fund).
New Orleans Hornets owner George Shinn and prominent New Orleans businesswoman Pat Denechaud serve as co-chairs of Perpetual Wave, and they are backed by an all-star roster that comprises the Steering Committee.
