March 15, 2001
NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane University and International Sports Properties (ISP Sports) have reached an agreement that provides the nationally recognized company with exclusive marketing rights to Tulane Athletics for the next eight years.
With the partnership, the university is guaranteed an annual rights fee and will share in additional revenues as well. In consideration, ISP Sports receives the rights to produce, sell and distribute the Green Wave radio broadcasts and coaches' radio and television shows, market print advertising in various athletic department publications and on the official athletics department website at www.TulaneGreenWave.com, and handle sales for all advertising signage in university athletic facilities.
"ISP has a proven record of success in marketing college sports. These guys are experts when it comes to sales and building radio and television exposure," said Rick Dickson, Tulane Director of Athletics. "This partnership will provide many benefits, including enabling our staff to concentrate on areas like ticket sales and improving the game experience for our fans."
"We are delighted to be associated with a program of such high academic standards, and one that has an extremely bright future behind the leadership of Rick Dickson," said ISP president Ben Sutton.
"Conference USA has quickly established itself as one of the premier conferences in America. We have enjoyed our associations in C-USA and are excited about the possibilities as we develop a true corporate partner program in the New Orleans market on behalf of Tulane University."
Wade Howell, a native of Atlanta, Ga. who previously worked for ISP properties at Alabama and Missouri before spending last year at Florida State, will serve as general manager of the Tulane ISP office. John Barranco will serve as the account executive in New Orleans.
Tulane is the 12th NCAA Division I athletic program to align itself with ISP. The Green Wave joins Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Marshall, Ohio, Southern Miss, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest in holding sole partnership agreements with the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based company.
