Tulane Varsity Ball Date Changed
April 9, 2002
NEW ORLEANS - Tulane's Varsity Ball, the school's first all-sports banquet, has been moved from Monday, April 15 to Monday, April 29 due to scheduling conflicts. The event was moved to accommodate more student-athletes' class schedules and team travel itineraries, allowing more student-athletes to attend the banquet. In addition, many of the University's spring sports teams will have completed conference championships prior to the new date of the Varsity Ball.
The all-sports banquet will be held at the Sheraton Hotel New Orleans on Canal Street beginning with a reception at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and the program at 7 p.m. The Varsity Ball, presented by the University's Student-Athlete Advisory Board (SAAB) honors the 2001-02 Tulane seniors and outstanding student-athletes from all 16 Green Wave sports teams, and features Tulane coaches from every sport. FOX 8 sports director Joe Trahan will serve as master of ceremonies.
The general public is invited to attend the Varsity Ball. Tickets are $40 per person and are available by calling the Tulane Athletic Ticket Office at 504-861-WAVE, or by stopping by the James W. Wilson Center. Opportunities to sponsor individual student-athletes, teams, tables and more are also available. Call the Tulane Athletic Marketing Office at 504-865-5625 for more information on sponsoring the Varsity Ball.
