New Orleans, La. - Tulane head coaches and athletics administrators, including head coaches Chris Scelfo (football), Shawn Finney (men's basketball), Lisa Stockton (women's basketball) and Director of Athletics Rick Dickson, headline the Tulane Athletics Fund Spring Tour of Louisiana, a seven-city adventure which kicks off April 10th in Mandeville and runs through early May. During the Tour, Green Wave coaches and staff travel to each of the seven Louisiana cities for a day of visits and meetings, topped off by a reception each evening.
The T.A.F. Spring Tour will make several stops through the state during late April and early May. The tour's first destination will be Mandeville on Thursday, April 10 for a reception on the Northshore. The following week, the Green Wave will head to Monroe on Monday, April 14, to Shreveport on April 15 and to Alexandria on April 16. Next, the tour will make back-to-back stops on Wednesday, April 23 and Thursday, April 24 in Baton Rouge and Lake Charles, respectively. Finally, the tour winds up in the Houma-Thibodaux area on Monday, May 5.
Each evening's reception is open to all fans, donors and alumni in that area. The events are held at different locations, from private homes to clubs and meeting rooms. For exact times and sites of the receptions, please contact the Tulane Athletics Fund Office at 504-865-5356.
"The Spring Tour is a great opportunity for us to spread the great news about Tulane Athletics to our constituencies throughout Louisiana," said J.D. Barnett, Tulane Senior Associate Athletics Director for Revenue Development. "The coaches and administrators enjoy interacting with Tulane fans from different cities, and it gives our supporters a chance to interact personally with our coaches."
At each city of the Spring Tour, guests will have a chance to socialize and discuss athletics with leaders of the Tulane Athletics program while hearing each coach and Dickson talk about their programs and the overall athletics program. Coaches and administrators will be available after the presentation to answer questions in a relaxed, one-on-one setting.
