Tennis Teams Each Claim Top Seeds for C-USA Tournaments

NEW ORLEANS - - The Tulane men's and women's tennis teams each claimed the No. 1 seeds at the Conference USA Men's and Women's Tennis Tournaments, as the league championship brackets were announced Monday.
The Tulane men's team, ranked 26th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll, earned its No. 1 seed thanks in-part to an 11-2 record over its last 13 games, including a 2-0 record against league opponents over that span. The Green Wave (15-6) will meet the winner of eighth-seeded Memphis and ninth-seeded Marquette on Friday at 12 p.m. The men's competition will be held at the University of South Florida.
The Tulane women's team earned the No. 1 seed for the Conference USA Women's Tennis Tournament, held this weekend at Saint Louis University, on the strength of its 16-4 overall record. The Green Wave, ranked 34th in the latest ITA poll, has posted a 4-0 record against Conference USA opponents and will meet either eighth-seeded Cincinnati or ninth-seeded Memphis at 12 p.m. on Friday.
Both teams received byes into the quarterfinals and both tournaments run from Thursday, April 15, through Sunday, April 18.
