April 16, 2004
NEW ORLEANS - Tulane head coaches and athletics administrators travel to the northern portion of the state next week as the Tulane Athletics Fund "It's Wave Time" Spring Tour makes stops in Monroe, Shreveport and Alexandria. The Tour will be in Monroe for an evening reception on Monday, April 19, visits Shreveport for a late afternoon event on Tuesday, April 20 and completes this section of the Spring Tour with a luncheon in Alexandria on Wednesday, April 21. All events are free and open to the public. For more information or to RSVP, please contact Amber Parker at 504-314-7216 or 1-866-GIVE2TU.
This year, ALL Tulane fans and alumni in the area are invited to attend the events and meet Green Wave head coaches Chris Scelfo (football), Shawn Finney (men's basketball), Lisa Stockton (women's basketball) and Betsy Becker (volleyball) along with Tulane Athletics Director Rick Dickson and members of the Tulane Athletics Fund (T.A.F.) staff.
The northern swing of the "It's Wave Time" Spring Tour kicks off in Monroe, at the home of Ryan and Olive Sartor, who will host the Tulane head coaches and staff at a reception in their home from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Monday.
The tour then travels to Shreveport, where the Shreveport Club on Travis Street will be the site of a reception from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, meet and talk with the Green Wave contingent in Alexandria at a luncheon at the Cajun Landing Restaurant on MacArthur Drive from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
At each event, each Tulane coach will talk about his or her program and participate in a question and answer session with the audience. Attendees will also hear from Dickson about the overall program, ongoing fundraising efforts and upcoming initiatives and projects. Finally, the coaches, Dickson and staff members will be available for one-on-one conversations and questions.
The "It's Wave Time" Spring Tour travelled to the Northshore and the Gulf Coast in March and continues in May when the Tulane group will travel to Houston, Lake Charles, Lafayette and Baton Rouge. It is the fourth consecutive year that Tulane has hit the road to visit its fans across the state.
