Record-Setting Year Comes to Close for Tulane Athletics Fund

NEW ORLEANS - With the end of the 2004 fiscal year on Wednesday, June 30, the Tulane Athletics Fund is in the final phase of its 2004 Spring Fundraising Drive, according to Lacey Vicknair Momic, Director of the Tulane Athletics Fund. A final tally on the 2004 drive will be released in mid-July as the University continues to post donations received in the mail and provide updates to the Tulane Athletics Fund total, a process that will continue through the week.
For the fourth year in a row, the Tulane Athletics Fund established a new benchmark for its annual fund, surpassing the 2003 total of $1.5 million in early June. Through July 1, 2004, the total that has been counted to date stands at more than $1.86 million.
"Since the end of the fiscal year, the university has been processing donations that have been made while we collected checks from various pledges," Momic said. "Although the fiscal year has officially ended, I expect our numbers to continue to rise."
