Kate Conochan, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, started with Tulane Athletics in Aprill 2022 as the Behavioral Health Case Manager. She was promoted in August 2023 to the role of Behavioral Health Therapist for all Tulane student athletes. In addition to providing mental health and sport performance counseling, Conochan works directly with teams to provide techniques to regulate emotions and improve mental performance.
Conochan obtained her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Mercyhurst University in 2006 where she played softball for 4 years. She completed her master's in social work at the University of Akron in 2017 and is currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Louisiana.
Prior to Tulane, Conochan worked as a program manager with Frontline, serving the unhoused population in Cleveland. Conochan has experience working in foster care and adoption through Catholic Charities and has experience as a clinician working with addiction and substance use.
Prior to working with student athletes at the collegiate level, Conochan worked as the director of the Peak program (a mental skills program) with 12/13U baseball players at Gold Glove Academy and Ohio Sports and Fitness.
