James W. Wilson Center
The Wilson Center for Intercollegiate Athletics, completed in 1990, has been described as one of the finest athletic buildings in the country.
The Wilson Center houses athletic offices for 12 of Tulane's 17 varsity sports, the Green Wave's weight room, training room, the Mickey Retif Clubhouse, the Tulane Athletic Hall of Fame Room, a collection of memorabilia in the building's atrium and the Academic Student Services Office and computer lab.
The building covers 76,000 square feet and was completed at a cost of $7.2 million. It is named for former Tulane football player Jim Wilson Jr., whose generous gift was a major catalyst in the fund-raising drive for completion of the building.
