Women's Golf Opens 1999-2000 Season

AUBURN, Ala. - Led by junior Pam Buff, the Tulane women's golf team played its first round of the 1999-2000 season at the Auburn Tiger Derby Invitational and currently stands in a tie for ninth place.
Buff, a 1999 honorable mention All-America, was the Green Wave's top performer on Monday, finishing the day in a tie for 10th place. Buff shot a three-over-par 75 on the day and is five shots out of the lead.
As a team, Tulane carded a score of 314 and is tied for ninth place with the University of Miami. Georgia and Tennessee are currently tied for the overall lead at 296. Individually, Tennessee's Tina Schneeberger leads the field of 69 with a first-round 70 (-2).
Other Tulane finishers in the 13-team field included Catalina Lara (T30/78), Misty Elliott (T37/79), Meghan Bolger (T52/82) and Bonnie Hanlin (T57/83)
The 54-hole event runs through Tuesday at the Saugahatchee Country Club, a par 72, 6,049-yard layout. The event is hosted by Auburn University.
