Elliott Leads Tulane Women's Golf at Auburn Invitational

AUBURN, Ala. - Sophomore Misty Elliott equaled her career-low round in collecting a top-20 finish at the Auburn Tiger Derby Invitational. Individually, two Green Wave golfers collected top-20 finishes.
Elliott, a sophomore from Baton Rouge, La., tallied a three-round total of 229 to finish in a tie for 16th place. Included in Tuesday's 36-hole effort was a second-round 74, which equaled her career-best round. It was her fourth career top-20 finish.
As a team, Tulane posted a three-round total of 943 to finish 11th in the 13-team event. Georgia won the team title with a score of 886, 18 strokes ahead of second-place Auburn.
Other Green Wave finishers included Pam Buff (T19th/230), Meghan Bolger (T51st/243), Catalina Lara (T51st/243) and Bonnie Hanlin (T63rd/250).
The 54-hole event was contested at the Saugahatachee Country Club, a par 72, 6,049-yard layout. The tournament was hosted by Auburn University.
The Tulane women's golf team will next be in action Oct. 8-10 at the Franklin Street Trust Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.
