ATHENS, Ga. - - The Tulane women's golf team posted a final round total of 331 to finish in 15th place at the Liz Murphy Collegiate Classic at the University of Georgia Golf Course on Sunday.
The Green Wave ended with a three-round total of 978, 10 points behind North Carolina, who placed 14th. Duke claimed the team title by firing a 902 over three rounds. Host Georgia was second with a score of 913, while Auburn, who posted Sunday's best round with a 306 showing, finished in third with a score of 926.
Mary Jan Fernandez led Tulane with a round of 80 on Sunday. She carded a three-round total of 247 to end in 67th place. Bonnie Hanlin and Marcela Gonzalez each finished the tournament in 55th place with a total score of 244. Hanlin fired an 81 on Sunday, while Gonzalez shot an 83 over the final round.
Carolin Landmann checked in at 250 for the tournament to finish in 72nd place, while Kathy Schafer shot a 254 to place 83rd.
Duke's Kalen Anderson won the individual title with a three-round total of 221. She fired a round-high 73 on Sunday.
The Green Wave return to action this coming weekend, traveling to Baton Rouge, La., for the LSU Invitational.
