Women's Golf Remains in Fifth at C-USA Tournament

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - - The Tulane women's golf team fired a team total of 314 for the second straight day to remain in fifth place at the Conference USA Women's Golf Tournament on Saturday.
As a team, Tulane has a total score of 628, just two strokes behind fourth-place Southern Mississippi. South Florida stands atop the leaderboard with a team score of 602. The Tournament in being held at the Iverness Country Club in Birmingham, Ala.
Carolin Landmann led the way for the Green Wave for the second straight day, finishing with a 76 to stand tied for seventh with a two-round total of 152. She is just five strokes off the leader, South Florida's Kelly Martin, who has a two-round showing of 147.
Bonnie Hanlin carded a 78 for the second straight day to stand tied for 13th with a total of 156. Mary Jan Fernandez gave the Wave a third golfer in the Top 20 with her second-day score of 80. She has totaled a 159 through the first two rounds.
Marcela Gonzalez turned in a score of 82 on Saturday and currently stands tied for 26th with a score of 163. Kathy Schafer has a 171 through two rounds after having carded an 80 on Saturday.
The Green Wave will compete in the tournament's third and final round on Sunday.
