Women's Golf Finishes Fourth At Conference USA Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Tulane women's golf team shot a team total of 306 in the final round of the 2001 Conference USA Women's Golf Championship and moved up one spot for a fourth place finish on Sunday.
As a team, the Wave posted a three round total of 934. Memphis claimed the 2001 C-USA Women's Golf title, edging South Florida by two strokes, with a 904 total. USF just missed the title with a team score of 906. Louisville rounded out the top-3 with a three round total of 923.
Carolin Landmann was the Green Wave's top finisher. She shot 76 in each round of the tournament and finished in a tie for seventh. Her three round total of 228 is a season low and her first top-10 finish as a Green Wave. Bonnie Hanlin shot a 79 on the day and finished in a tie for 13th, a season best. Her tournament total was 235.
Marcela Gonzalez had her best round of the tournament on Sunday, a 74, bringing her three-round total to 237. Gonzalez finished in a tie for 16th. Mary Jan Fernandez rounds out the top-20 Tulane finishers in a tie for 19th. She recorded a three-round total of 238 for her best finish of the season. Kathy Schafer rounded out the Wave finishers with her best round of the tournament, a 77. She posted a tournament total of 248.
