Tulane Women Finish Seventh at LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic

BATON ROUGE -- Four Tulane players shot their lowest round of the tournament in Sunday's final round as the Green Wave women's golf team moved up to finish seventh at the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic played at the University Club in Baton Rouge. Host LSU claimed the team title at the 11-team event.
Senior Bonnie Hanlin paced Tulane Sunday, firing a one-over par 73 to finish tied for 22nd at 11-over par 227 with all three rounds in the 70s. Three of her teammates -- Kathy Schafer, Carolin Landmann and Mary Jan Fernandez -- recorded three-over par 75s in the final round as Tulane's team score was a 10-over par 298 Sunday. Marcela Gonzalez also scored well for the Green Wave with a four-over par 76 to tie for 29th. Schafer, Landmann and Fernandez finished tied for 37th, 39th and 42nd, respectively.
Reilly Rankin of Georgia claimed the individual title with a five-under par 67 Sunday. She was two strokes ahead of Katy Harris of LSU.
Tulane had been in eighth place after the first two rounds but moved up to finish 10 strokes behind sixth place Mississippi State.
