Women's Golf Finishes Fifth At Lady Paladin Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Junior Carolin Landmann shot a one-over par 73 and the Green Wave fired a 297 in the third round as the Tulane University women's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Lady Paladin Invitational hosted by Furman University Sunday at the campus' par-72, 5,984-yard golf course.
The Green Wave, who fired a 296 on Friday before shooting a 304 in the second round, tallied a three-round score of 897 (+33) to finish seven strokes behind third-place North Carolina and 17 off host Furman which won the event with a 16-over 880.
Landmann, who finished the tournament with a five-over par 221, finished tied for fifth in the individual standings to lead the Green Wave effort. Freshman Liliana Alvarez was next for Tulane with a plus seven 223 (74-75-74), followed by sophomore Lindsay Hulwick, senior Kathy Schafer and sophomore Alexis Wooster.
Hulwick finished tied for 23rd in the individual standings with a plus-9 225 (76-74-75) and Schafer was tied for 47th with a 223 (75-79-80). Wooster, meanwhile, finished one stroke behind Shafer with a 234 (78-81-75) to finish tied for 49th.
TCU's Brooke Tull (74-69-69=212) overcame a one-stroke deficit on the final day to claim individual medalist honors with a three-day score of four under-par. Furman's Leigh Turner (74-68-73=215), the leader heading into the final round, finished second at one under-par.
The Green Wave return to action on Nov. 4 when they close out the fall season at Edwin Watts/Palmetto Invitational in Charleston, S.C.
