
Michael Kogan Wins Honor Again

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane University junior Michael Kogan has been named the Conference USA Player of the Week for Men's Tennis for the third time this season, the league announced on Tuesday.
In the lone match for the Green Wave last week, Kogan, who is the two-time Player of the Year in Conference USA, led Tulane to a 6-1 defeat of 54th-ranked Tulsa on Sunday afternoon in New Orleans.
Kogan, ranked No. 32 in the nation, improved to 6-1 in singles this spring with a straight-set victory over 43rd-ranked Alejandro Tejerina, 6-4, 6-3.
In doubles action, Kogan and Victor Romero, who hold the No. 29 ranking in the nation, managed their third-straight upset in pairs play. The Tulane duo, undefeated this spring at 6-0, rolled to an 8-4 victory over 19th-ranked Ryan Livesay and Dustin Taylor. Last weekend, Kogan and Romero defeated the sixth and 18th-ranked teams in the country.
The Green Wave is in action this Thursday, hosting Idaho State at 3 p.m. at Goldring Tennis Stadium. Free hot dogs and dollar soft drinks are available for fans attending the match. Admission is free.
