NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane's 2003 football game at Louisville has been picked up by ESPN for national television broadcast and will be moved to Friday, Oct. 17th, giving the Green Wave its second national television appearance of the season. The game will kick off at 7 p.m. CDT from Louisville's Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
The Wave's season opener versus TCU on Labor Day night (Monday, Sept. 1) will also be aired on either ESPN or ESPN2 with a 7 p.m. kickoff from the Superdome. Several other Green Wave games are under consideration for syndicated broadcast by Conference USA television partner ESPN Regional in 2003.
"This will make three ESPN national broadcasts for our football program over a 10-month period dating back to the Hawai'i Bowl in December," said Tulane Director of Athletics Rick Dickson. "These broadcasts provide great exposure for our student-athletes, our football program and for our university. We're happy to work with our friends at ESPN and Louisville to get this game on the air this year."
"We're excited to get this game on national television," said Tulane Head Coach Chris Scelfo. "Our student-athletes deserve this kind of exposure and this showing will give all of our fans back home and across the country a chance to see their team in action."
Season tickets for Tulane's six-game home schedule are on sale now at the Green Wave Athletics Ticket Office in the James W. Wilson Center or by calling 504-861-WAVE. Tickets start at just $140 for an adult season ticket and are $60 for youth ages 2-18.
The Green Wave open the season on Monday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. versus TCU in a nationally-televised game from the Superdome.
