Bryan Leads Wave at Notre Dame Invitational

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Green Wave freshman Rachel Bryan led the Tulane women's cross country team for the fourth week in a row, finishing in 10th place in the Gold Division of the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday afternoon at Burke Memorial Golf Course.
Tulane finished 11th overall in the 19-team field. Bryan's time of 18:30 was her top effort in a five-kilometer race this season. The Wave's second finisher, freshman Aubrey Phillips, was just behind Bryan with a time of 18:37 to earn 13th place in the 154-runner field. Junior Lisa Green was 27th with a time of 18:57.
Rounding out the scorers for the Wave were freshmen Helen Kenworthy and Hannah Carlson. Kenworthy finished 115th with a time of 20:13, while Carlson took 130th at 20:38.
The team winner of the Gold Division race was Wisconsin-Oshkosh with 119 points, followed by Notre Dame (123 points), Hillsdale (143), Cincinnati (156) and Valparaiso (202), The Green Wave tallied 273 points. In the Blue Division, Stanford swept both the men's and women's races.
The individual winner of the Gold race was Oshkosh's Liz Woodworth, a two-time Division III All-American, who posted a time of 17:10.
The Tulane women's runners who did not compete at Notre Dame, as well as the entire Green Wave men's squad will be in action on Saturday morning at the UNO Invitational.
