Women's Golf Climbs Two Spots At Bryan National Collegiate

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. - Junior Alexis Wooster fired an even-par 72 and the Green Wave trimmed 14 strokes off its day-one score as the Tulane University women's golf team finished day two of the Bryan National Collegiate Saturday afternoon at the par 72, 6,074-yard Bryan Park Champions Course.
Three Green Wave golfers shot tournament-lows on Saturday, including sophomore Liliana Alvarez who shot a one-over par 73 to finish tied for 35th with a seven-over par 151 (78-73). Wooster shaved 10-strokes off her total from the first round to finish tied for 51st with a 10-over par 154 (82-72), and fellow junior Lindsay Hulwick trimmed five strokes off her day-one score to finish tied for 64th with a 157 (81-76).
Freshman Mary Ellen Jacobs shot a two-over par 74 for the second consecutive day to once again finish as Tulane's top scorer with a four-over par 148 (74-74) to complete the second round tied for 18th overall. Senior Carolin Landmann, meanwhile, also duplicated her day-one performance with a plus-four 76 to rank tied for 42nd after 36 holes (76-76=152).
Duke leads the team title contention with a five-under par 571 (289-282), and Auburn is second with a plus-seven 583 (294-289). Duke's Brittany Land (71-69) and May Wood of Vanderbilt (72-68) are tied for the individual title with four-under par 140s.
The 18-team tournament concludes on Sunday with the final round beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The Bryan National will be the final tuneup for Tulane before the C-USA Championship, which is slated for April 19-21 in Fort Worth, Texas.
