NEW ORLEANS, La. - - Senior forward Lindsay Morris has been chosen as the Conference USA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. In her first action of the season, Morris earned the weekly award after scoring all three of Tulane's goals over the weekend. She started the week with a goal against in-state rival LSU before scoring both goals in a 2-0 triumph over UL Lafayette. She missed the first two games of the year with a minor injury. Morris, a native of Seattle, Wash., now has 20 career goals at Tulane, making her just the second player in Green Wave history to reach the 20-goal mark. She needs just two more goals to become the all-time leader in goals scored at Tulane. "Lindsay did a great job for us this weekend," Tulane head coach Betsy Anderson said. "We have been looking for an individual to give us an offensive spark and Lindsay stepped up in the two games over the weekend. Hopefully these are just the first of many more goals she'll score this year." Tuesday's honor marks the second time in her career that Morris has earned the C-USA Player of the Week award. She also won the award last year after wins over C-USA rivals South Florida and eventual league champ UAB in the middle of September. Morris joins teammate Megan Morey as C-USA Player of the Week honorees so far this season. Morey, a goalkeeper, was chosen as the league's Defensive Player of the Week last week after leading the Green Wave to shutouts over UL Monroe and Samford. Tulane returns to action this weekend, as the Green Wave travel to participate in the Central Florida Invitational Tournament. The Wave will face host Central Florida on Friday before meeting Jacksonville on Sunday.
