WILMINGTON, N.C. - Senior Liliana Alvarez shot a three-over par 75 as the Tulane women's golf teamed wrapped up the three-day Landfall Tradition in fifth place Sunday afternoon at the par 72, 6,070 yard Country Club of Landfall Nicklaus Course.
The Green Wave concluded the three rounds with a total of 922, 10 strokes behind Conference USA foe and fourth-place team Tulsa. Purdue, which turned the lowest round of the weekend with a 286 on Sunday, ran away with the tournament crown with a three-day total of 877. The Boilermakers were 17 strokes ahead of second place Wake Forest and 29 ahead of Virginia, which claimed third.
For the second consecutive day, Alvarez turned in the lowest round for Tulane and was the Wave's top finisher in the tournament, tying for 13th in the individual standings (82, 70, 75 = 227). In the individual race, Purdue freshman Christel Boeljon's tournament-low round of five-under 67 on Sunday was enough to take the crown from Tulsa's Leisl Hasbrouck, who held the lead through the first two days.
