NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Tulane University Office of Alumni Affairs is supporting the Green Wave baseball team at the College World Series in Omaha, Neb., with multiple events for fans, friends, alumni and parents.
The alumni office will provide a pavilion tent for each of the Tulane games at the World Series. The tent will be open at no charge to Tulane fans starting at 11 a.m. before Saturday's 1 p.m. game against Oregon State (June 18) and after the game ends. There will be live Dixieland music, three big-screen TVs, giveaways, and food and drink. Visit the Tulane registration table to get a wristband for access. The same pattern repeats itself for each Tulane game (open two hours before game time and open for post-celebration after each game).
The 6,000 square foot pavilion tent will be located at Deer Park and S. 14th Street, one block south and west of interstate I-80. The northwest corner of Rosenblatt Stadium is S. 13th Street and Deer Park / Bob Gibson Boulevard, so it is in walking distance to the playing field.
On Sunday, June 19, the I-80 Omaha Cosmopolitan Club is hosting a riverboat cruise and steak fry from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Coach Jones and the team are scheduled for a brief visit. The cost is $15 per person for steaks and river cruise and $10 for hot dogs and river cruise. The fry starts at 5:00 and the river boat cruise starts at 6:30. The location is north of the Gallup Building on Abbott Road along the Missouri riverfront. Maps will be available at the pavilion tent.
University President Scott Cowen and his wife Margie also plan to host a reception during the College World Series. As more information is available, it will be posted at TulaneGreenWave.com.
